Pollywog in a Bog - Our New Favorite!

We are big Barenaked Ladies fans and they have a new kids CD out called, Snack Time. It is great. Totally BNL style. Porter (and Mom and Dad) are loving all the songs. It'll be under the tree for sure. Until then, we have been enjoying the songs on You Tube. Here's one of our favorite songs, "Pollywog in a Bog" (the best is the regge rap solo in the middle). Another great one is 7 8 9. But for now, check out, "Pollywog in a Bog":

Porter's 2nd!

This year Porter and I decided to do a frog theme for his 2nd birthday party.
We had so much fun! Here are some (okay, a lot!) of pics from that fun night.
You'll see from the pics - the party was hoppin' (pun intended!)

Playing "Swat the Fly" - a game to try and hit hanging flies with a fly swatter (a clean one, of course!) By far, the favorite among all the kids!

Another hit was the froggie noise makers!

Happy Birthday to Porter! He was memorized with everyone singing! Then, he chowed down on cupcake! Tasty!!

A Tender Moment

While shedding a few tears over life's daily struggles, a little boy walked over to his mommy.

"You okay?" he asked.
"I'm okay." Mom said.

He then laid his head down on her leg and patted it.

"I make you feel better?"
"Yes, you make me feel better."

The mom then sweeps the little boy up into her arms. He gives her a big hug.

"Be happy?"
"Yes, I'm happy. You make me happy."

The mommy looks at her son, whose lips are puckered. A big giant smack is given.

"Porter, do you know you make my heart happy?"
"I know, Mommy. I'm good."

Halloween Fun

We got Mashed! Ali and Vance sent us their Monster Mash video they created (with the help of Oriental Trading Co.) Porter LOVED it! So, we had to make one too! Check out our Monster Mash!

P.S. When the werewolf picture came up on ours, Porter stated - "That's a pretty sweet beard, Mom". He's hilarious!

Taft and Carrie

My little brother left today.
He went to go serve his country in Iraq.
It's amazing to watch your family grow up. One day we're playing around with Legos, in the backyard, doing something crazy! and the next...

I love my brother. We're buds. Taft is Taft. There just aren't words to describe his sense of humor, inventiveness, kind heart, work ethic, crazy, zaniness! If you know Taft - you know
Taft is Taft!

Taft is a phenomenal soldier and to do what he is doing with the attitude he has is remarkable. His sweet wife Carrie is just amazing. I couldn't do what she is doing. Flat out.
We love them both so much!

Although, my mom says that she's can not articulate the words of her heart, she did a great job in a letter she wrote to the Daily Universe: "And so I am here sitting... in Provo, Utah, thousands of miles away saying not goodbye but God [be with you] until we meet again."

We love your Taft and Carrie! Think about you often, always in our prayers...

Camping

Okay, so these are a month late but thought you'd enjoy them anyway.... We went camping with Grandma Sharyn, Rain, Doug and their kids, Ammon, Nyrie and the Palkki's up at Diamond Fork in Spanish Fork Canyon. It was Porter's first time and he had a blast! Here's a few pics from our adventure....

Checking out the campsite before tents/The setup

When we got to the campsite there wasn't really many places to sit around the fire. Simon said, "Not a problem! I've got a chain and a truck! " So the boys went and got us some logs from close by. They're sitting on their find.

Sitting 'round the fire

I think Porter looks like Opie in this one!
He went everywhere with that fishing pole!!

The next morning - everyone survived!
